Stitch Fix #29 was one that pushed me outside my comfort zone and delivered one of my most coveted items. I asked for a Kate Spade and Trina Turk style Fix. Sara did a great job putting this together and I was excited from the moment I looked at the app. We were in the process of cleaning and selling our home during June, so this is fix was photographed back at our previous home, except for one item. 🙂
Papermoon Darian Crochet Kimono $48
I had pinned a few floral, pastel kimonos on Pinterest and have been hoping to receive one for many fixes. I’m sure Sara would have delivered if they were in stock. Instead, she sent me this Papermoon cardigan. I styled this with a white Elizabeth & Clarke Cadwell top, Kut from the Kloth Catherine boyfriend jeans, floral wedges, Margaret Elizabeth earrings and a Charlene K Gold Circle Chain Necklace from Rocksbox (Use the code APRILBFF102 for a free month!).
I’m not a fan of the Papermoon brand and have a permanent note asking not to receive their items due to the disappointing quality of previous items. Sara acknowledged this, but thought this kimono still might be worth a shot. You cannot tell in the pictures, but the piece lacked symmetry. I returned this piece due to its low quality. It’s good to challenge your beliefs occasionally and this just reaffirmed that I’m not a Papermoon fan. RETURNED!
41 Hawthorn Kedavra Colorblock Cami Blouse $58
This cute top was on my Pinterest board and I was so excited to receive it in a Fix! It was a little bit smaller of a fit than most Stitch Fix items, so my stylist sent one size larger than my usual and the fit was perfect!
I styled this top with flip flops and my white DL1961 Hillary ankle zip skinny jeans. This shirt is so different from anything else in my closet and is a fun throwback to my middle school days when everyone wore clothes from surf shops by Roxy, Rusty, and Quicksilver. KEPT!
Market & Spruce Bobbie Printed Skirt $68
When I saw this in my fix, I was initially disappointed. I’m not a girl who wears skirts and the last time I remember wearing one was a little over 8 years ago! I fully expected to dislike this piece, but when I put it on, I was pleasantly surprised. It is a great casual summer piece and Sara was right to send this my way and push my boundaries.
Look at this close-up of the pretty fabric!
I enjoyed trying this skirt, but I returned it because it was too short for my taste. I prefer skirts and dresses to hit closer to my knee. This was one of the better items in my box and I would have completely ignored this in a store. I’m so glad I have Sara to help me improve my wardrobe and broaden my thinking about what I can wear! RETURNED!
Brixon Ivy Levi Dress $68
This dress was an item I had been wanting for a long time! I was giddy with excitement when I peeked and saw this was coming in my Fix! I think this dress has a great Kate Spade vibe and I was thrilled to get to try it!
I paired it with red Dolce Vita wedges for a pop of color. No matter how I styled this dress, I never felt fabulous. I really WANTED to love this dress, but it was just not for me. RETURN!
Margaret M Lea Printed Short $68
You may notice some repetition in my styling. Since we were in the middle of moving, I did not take too many options for styling. These fun Margaret M shorts were styled with the Elizabeth and Clarke Cadwell top, Margaret Elizabeth Riviera Drops in moonstone, and my Seychelles wedges.
These shorts had a fun pattern and cute colors, but I was unsure of whether or not the fit was flattering. When my husband said they look like “Mom shorts”, their fate was sealed! RETURNED!
