Rocksbox is a jewelry rental subscription service. For $19 per month, you may rent 3 pieces of jewelry at a time and wear it for as long as they desire. When you get tired of a box, return it to RocksBox to switch it out for a new box of jewelry picked by your very own stylist! If you fall in love with an item, you can buy it at an insider’s price that is typically 20% off retail. This box is a great way to try trendy new jewelry without the purchasing commitment.
RocksBox allows you to create an online wish list and become a style insider upon signing up for the service. Your stylist typically sends 1-2 items from your wish list per box and an item she selects to compliment the other pieces. Also, $10 of your $19 styling fee is converted to shine spend and can be applied to the purchase of an item each month. Shine spend does not roll over into the next month.
So, without further ado, let’s look at my first box!
My first set contained the following 3 pieces and I have included my review of each item below:
1) Ashiana London Hammered Gold Moonstone Drop Necklace ($48 retail, $38 insiders)
This was a very dainty necklace and it appeared to be low quality. There was some green tarnish around the stone and the gold piece above the pendant appeared asymmetrical and kind of sloppy. I had never tried this brand before and it did not win me over.
2) Kendra Scott Dee Drop Earrings in Slate Cat’s Eye ($45 retail, $36 insiders)
Believe it or not, this was the first item I have ever tried from Kendra Scott. I usually wear stud earrings, but I really like the look of these with my new lob. They were lightweight and really pretty. I felt confident in the quality and the retail price checked out. Since they were in great condition, I purchased them!
3) Loren Hope Carly Bracelet in Brass ($78 retail, $70.20 insiders)
Loren Hope is another new brand for me. I was really impressed with the sturdy construction of this bracelet and consider it to be a high quality piece. However, it is more of a fun weekend item than an everyday piece. The rhinestones were a little too much for me and I do not own any other brass pieces. I enjoyed trying this item, but it really was not my style. I have included a picture below so you can get a better feel for the size of this item.
Overall, it was fun getting my first RocksBox and I cannot wait to see what they include in my next set.
