Stitch Fix is an online styling service that offers members the expertise of a personal stylist to help update their wardrobe. To sign up for a Stitch Fix, you fill out a personal style profile that includes your sizing, style preferences, and clothing budget. Once your profile is complete, a stylist will send 5 pieces of clothing or accessories to your home for you to try out. You are able to keep the items for 3 days and try them out with your clothes, shoes, and accessories before making your final decision. Also, Stitch Fix sends you a styling card with each item depicting how to wear each item two ways: casually or dressed up.
This month, my stylist, Sara admitted that after looking over my Pinterest board, she did not see too many of the pieces I liked in the inventory. Even with inventory limitations, she still pulled together a great, cohesive Fix that I am excited to share!
1. Pixley Fiona Maxi Dress in navy ($78)
Sara was pretty confident about me trying this dress, saying “I think you’ll rock this!” in her note. I tried it on with hesitation, since I try to avoid figure-hugging clothing. When I put this on, my husband said he loved it! He even referred to it as my “pretty dress” when we were taking the pictures. Out of two fixes it was his favorite item. I would not have picked this out on my own, but my husband and family think it is a winner. Sara took me outside my comfort zone on this one, but it paid off. I paired the dress with a Stella and Dot necklace, gold Alex and Ani bangles, a gold watch, and gold flats. KEEP!
2. Margaret M Emer Polka Dot Print High Waisted Cropped Pant in black ($98)
I have to admit that in the summer, I’m not really feeling black pants. However, Sara knows what will get me excited: Margaret M and fun patterns! Have I mentioned in my previous posts that Marget M pants feel like yoga pants, but look very polished? These are a good basic with polka dots add a fun twist! Just add a green peplum Banana Republic Top and some black pumps, and I have a fun work outfit. Oh, and don’t forget the Romolo Mini Facet Bib Necklace from the last fix! KEEP!
3. Papermoon Rosen Sheet Detail Blouse in white ($44)
I loved the colors on this shirt out of the box, but my usual size did not fit well! The underarms of the shirt were super tight and the sides were sewn together incorrectly, causing the pink layer on top to show behind the lace layer. I emailed customer service and they were quick to respond to my concerns and I was able to exchange for a size up. Stitch Fix is a company with wonderful, personalized customer service. I have always had pleasant dealings with them. The new top (shown here) fit much better and was sewn together properly. Being able to trade this shirt persuaded me to keep the whole box this month. I paired the top with my distressed Paige denim, silver Alex and Ani bangles, and Kate Spade earrings for a casual look. KEEP!
4. Bancroft Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace in light green ($36)
Sara sent this necklace to pair with the Pixley maxi, but I prefer gold accessories with navy. However, this Fix offered the option of pairing the necklace with the Rosen blouse, which I loved! The greens are not exact, but the complement one another nicely. KEEP
5. Pixley Tammi Printed Dress in blue ($68)
I saved the best for last! Sara did an amazing job choosing this dress! It was love at first sight! The fun pattern screams summer! The tie at the waist is also a fun touch. It is a bonus that although this dress is a little short, it gets longer when you sit down. She suggested pairing this with a pair of red flats, which are now on my shopping list! Here, I have shown it with Jack Rogers, gold Alex and Ani bangles, a gold watch, and gold Melissa Joy Manning Wishbone earrings. KEEP!
So, I kept another whole box from Sara this month! I feel so grateful to have a stylist who has such amazing taste and who tries to tailor Fixes to my Pinteret board. After a dozen Stitch Fixes, I cannot imagine a month without this service. Getting surprise boxes of clothing has become one of the best parts of each month!
